Blades of the 10° Standard Face models are glued from combinations
of basswood, poplar, cherry, butternut, and birch. They have a hardwood
lip on the powerface, which is shaped into a slight hook, enabling the blade
to enter the water quietly and with little turbulence. All shafts are oval
in shape and made with select basswood.

7° BentshaftThe reason they are so light yet so strong, like all Sawyer paddles, lies in the thin blade which is made very rigid by its synthetic tip and covering of "honeycombed" fiberglass cloth. The fiberglass incorporates the synthetic tip into the wood, making a very strong blade. This blade will not warp and is very damage resistant, even when abused.

10° Single BendBud Moll brings years of experience in custom designs and lay-ups for paddlers of various abilities to these smartly designed and well constructed graphite paddles. Black barts are extremely light, averaging only eleven ounces. The medium sized oval shaft is easy to grip, has a gradual taper to aid in switching sides, and has slightly thinner walls for shock absorbtion. A tapered shaft to blade transition area allows a quiet exit with less water disturbance. The Blade can be fully submerged without burying the shaft. The extra thin blade, tapering in all directions, allows knife-like entry into the water and can be fully submerged without burying the shaft. |
