Our mission statement

The politics and international relations indexers special interest group is an international association of professional indexers who are encouraging advancement of the art and science of indexing along a wide spectrum of texts that are political or politically-related. Our interest is to promote the indexing profession and the indexing professional via information exchange concerning all that thus pertains: the critical analysis of text; indexing procedure, arrangement, phrasing, etc.; indexing tools such as computers and software; business procedures such as fair practice, remuneration, publicity and referrals; making authors, editors and publishers aware of the indexing profession and to show them what quality indexing are.
Though the Political/international relations indexing SIG is small and young, its members represent a vast range of education and indexing experience. We work in various media and we either specialize in political indexing or include it among other branches of competence.
